In addition to our regular residential programs, we offer case management services to women who are pregnant or parenting children within the community. The First Steps Case Management program extends Casa Serena's message of hope and recovery to non-residential pregnant or parenting women.

The program focuses on the "whole woman", wherever she is, through a compassionate system that provides outreach, assessment, treatment planning, service linkage, advocacy, counseling, crisis management and education. The purpose of the First Steps Case Management program is to address the problem of alcohol and drug use during pregnancy and in the early years of parenting, to increase the number of women seeking and receiving treatment leading to long term sobriety, and to increase positive birth outcomes.
