Why Give?

Casa Serena needs your help because:
  • An estimated 75% of treatment in America is for men only.
  • More than 7 out of every 10 women who come to Casa Serena have been victims of rape, incest or physical or domestic abuse.
Your support is their potential:
  • The length of treatment is directly related to relapse rate: more than 80% of people who only go through a short-term treatment programs relapse, while less than 30% who complete a one-year program relapse.
  • In California, over 55% of women treated in residential recovery programs like Casa Serena were supporting themselves and their children, with no government assistance, one year after treatment.
What does the Scholarship fund pay for?

Women pay what they can, but over 70% need some sort of financial assistance. What clients can't pay must be supported through Scholarship funds. Because of the economy and government funding cuts, Casa Serena's Scholarship fund provides the majority of support. Scholarship funds support the critical services that allow women to receive treatment for their addiction such as housing, food and counseling.

Does Casa Serena receive government support?

Casa Serena receives very limited government support. Since the economic downturn, annual government funding has been cut by approximately  $200,000, 25% of Casa Serena's annual operating budget.

Your contribution can make a life changing difference for women struggling with the diseases of alcoholism and drug addiction.
